Strawberry-Orange Fool

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled, medium dice (about 3 cups)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1 cup cold heavy cream

  • Directions

    Blend 2 cups of the strawberries, and 1/2 cup of the sugar in a blender or food processor until smooth. Transfer to medium saucepan and cook over medium heat until bubbling and just thickened. Set aside to cool, then refrigerate and chill for about 1 hour. Stir in remaining 1 cup strawberries.
    In a medium clean, cold bowl, beat cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of the sugar and liqueur until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into strawberry mixture. Chill fool until beginning to set, about 30 minutes.

Total: 1 hr 25 min Active: 15 min Yield: approximately 40 Level: Easy Ingredients 4 (2-ounce) chocolate candy bars (recommended: Mars Bars or Milky Way) 1/2 stick unsalted butter 2 1/2 cups crunchy sweetened corn cereal (recommended: Cornflakes) Special equipment: approximately 40 mini muffin papers Directions Watch how to make this recipe. Break the candy bars into bits and drop them into a saucepan. Add the butter and melt, over lowish heat, stirring frequently with a rubber spatula. When everything is melted (the nougat-like layer takes the longest to go), tip in the cereal and turn them, with your rubber spatula, in the chocolate mixture until they are all pretty well coated. Fill the mini muffin papers with the mixture and put in the refrigerator, on a small sheet pan or tray, for at least 1 hour. Paulo Borrachinha has had plenty of reason to smile in his MMA career, going 9-0 with 9 stoppage wins. The maulings have come via head kick, ground-and-pound, right cross, left hook, combination barrage and the kitchen sink. They've come in small regional promotions and followed him into the UFC. And they've all come in a single round or less. In nine fights, Costa, who professionally goes by Borrachinha, has never had to fight more than five minutes. His shortest outing was just 32 seconds, and in his UFC debut just less than three months ago, he needed just 77 ticks of the clock to pummel Garreth McLellan into an early evening.  For his 10th fight, he's been anointed.
